Then it was decided with Mölndal City Museum (45 cubic), that it will be an exhibition of works by Ingrid Ström, exhibition is in progress a month, August 20 to September 18 – 2016, the exhibition is called – “The Life of an Artist” – Ingrid Ström.

Warm welcome to Ingrid Ström – An artistic life – Saturday august 20 to Sunday september 18!
The exhibition is shown in the museum’s 45 cubic surface, with works by Ingrid Ström (1921-06-25 – 2012-07-23) artists from Bohuslän, based in Mölndal and represented in museums in France, Denmark, USA as well as municipalities and institutions in Sweden.
On The website www.ingridstrom.se has Ingrid’s son Roger Ström built up an extensive presentation of Ingrid’s artistic life. Ingrid worked with some 25 different techniques of which currently 12 technicians and about 850 pictures displayed on the website. All production which is shown on the website has been created in the studio on Kämpegatan in Mölndal between 1975 and 2008. This despite the fact that Ingrid 1977 suffered a severe stroke, which resulted in a long hospital stay and convalescence at home. She was very well recovered, but the side effects of this stroke was always a part Ingrids everyday life.
Basically Ingrid was autodidact, already in elementary school the teacher noticed that Ingrid and her sisters Signe and Sophia had artistic talents, thence tried teacher to encourage this as much as possible. One day in junior level school Ingrid found some colored crayons by the black board, and she tested them during a break. The result was a horse that my teacher liked so much, as it stayed at the board for the rest of the year so we calculated and wrote around it.
Later, Ingrid went to a course in lithography with Gosta Andersson and courses in several technologies at the KKV, the artists’ collective workshop in Gothenburg, where she was a member from 1977 to 1997.

Mölndal City Museum August 19 (Friday) late evening before the vernissage and I have worked with Marie Berge (Mölndal City Museum) and we are ready, we’ve worked together for a week to plan and put / hang Ingrid’s Art at Mölndal City Museum and their surface is 45 cubic. Huge thanks to Marie Berge who has been very creative and steered up everyone involved, including myself, also a big thanks to Clara Vollrathson, Patrik Andersson and Sam Vesterberg who have made fine efforts, below some pictures from 45 m³.

The exhibition lasted from August 20 to September 18, the museum was open Tuesday to Sunday (Mondays the museum had closed), total of four weeks (24 days), the exhibition was open from 12:00 to 16:00 (4 hours per day).
In my “world” was “the totaly statement” way beyond my expectation because it came so many visitors (despite the exceptionally fine weather), the guestbook there were many who wrote down their thoughts … and it was also many which chosed to left their contact details separately … the total number of visitors was estimated very large … Including those who wrote in the guestbook and those who simply chosed to visit the exhibition and then think for themselfs, thanks to everyone that came!
I have had the privilege to attend all exhibition days (24st), all those days were very interesting from different perspectives. People came … With names, I often heard but never met … Old friends of Ingrid in different phases of her artistic life came and told there story with Ingrid … I felt great to hear about all these meetings … and not least all the people who came and discoverd Ingrid’s art for the first time …

Culture night in Kvarnbyn organized every year, organizers: Culturespecialists, City of Mölndal, ABF, Culturehouse “Möllanhuset” etc. this year it was on Friday, September 2 (2016). There are many different types of activities on this day (night) as ArtExhibitions (which usually keeps on whole weekend) but also dance, children’s theater, food, etc.
It use to be a big event in Mölndal City with many visitors, which was particularly noticeable on the Mölndal City Museum and the ongoing Art Exhibition “An artistic Life” – Ingrid Ström (August 20 to September 18) when the number of visitors to the museum were about 1,800 people (this was a record number this year as well).
When Mölndal City Museum (Marie Berge) planned in exhibition “An artistic Life” with Ingrid’s art, so was the plan from Mölndal City Museum (Marie Berge) that Culture night in Kvarnbyn should occur at the time of half of regular exhibition period, which was very experienced, for this was clearly an added value!
